Veo 3.1 4K rates (with audio)

As of Oct 9, 2026:

Compared with 1080p, Standard jumps from $0.40/s to $0.60/s (+50%), and Fast from $0.12/s to $0.30/s (2.5×). Draft at 720p/1080p on Lite or Fast, then render finals in 4K only when the shot is locked.

Budgeting 4K with retries

Example: 10 final 8-second 4K shots, Fast tier, 100% waste (one retry each) → $0.30 × 8 × 10 × 2 = $48. Same plan on Standard → $0.60 × 8 × 10 × 2 = $96. If you prototyped those takes at Lite 1080p first, most of that waste would have cost $0.08/s instead of $0.30–$0.60/s.

More context: cost per second, Fast vs Standard, 8-second costs.
